Caribbean HR Solutions is the Caribbean's premier HR Outsourcing company specializing in Executive Search, Recruiting, HRO, and Payroll services. On behalf of our client, Sol Caribbean Ltd, we are seeking to identify qualified candidates to fill the role of Project Engineer.
Job Scope
Reporting to the Project Development Manager, the Project Engineer will support renewable energy project development across the Sol Ecolution footprint spanning 23 countries in the Eastern, Western and Spanish Caribbean. In this position you will liaise with Sol’s internal engineering team and external EPC providers to advance renewable energy projects. The incumbent will also interface with external stakeholders for customer engagement, pitches, and business development opportunities.
Functions and Responsibilities:
- Able to inspect, supervise and project manage renewable energy solar PV installation and construction
- Design rooftop and ground mount solar PV systems using software like Helioscope and PVSyst to determine project viability and modeling inputs
- Able to create detailed electrical designs using software like AutoCAD · Able to review and understand electrical code requirements to adjust electrical designs accordingly
- Review electrical designs and provide corrective feedback as required to contractors
- Conduct inspections to assess issues and implement corrective solutions for faulty or underperforming projects Business Development
- Business Development activities to assist in growing the pipeline of Commercial and Industrial opportunities
- Analyze energy data and perform savings analyses for commercial and industrial clients
- Assist customer and business lead generation, and project origination efforts.

Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (Electrical Engineering or similar preferred but not required)
- 3+ years of working experience in the renewable energy industry in an engineering role (a combination of work experience + internships will be considered)
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Helioscope, PV Syst, or equivalent
- Proficiency in PV Systems detailed electrical engineering design
- Proficiency in Project Management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
- Prior experience with financial modeling of renewable energy projects is a plus, but not a requirement.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work fluidly and collaboratively within the team as well as with different teams from across the business and organization.
- Ability to simultaneously handle multiple objectives with varying timelines Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
