Assistant Accountant

Assistant Accountant

Key Accountabilities:
  • Maintain & update fixed asset registry & post monthly depreciation expense;
  • Maintain GL balances through schedules & book monthly adjustments via GJEs;
  • Allocate each monthly expense such as salaries, petrol, parts & materials, etc. to various projects to facilitate P&L by job monthly reports;
  • File & process payment for monthly S01 on tax website;
  • Compute monthly GCT return & file & pay GCT return on tax website;
  • Manage & pay interim income taxes & manage tax certificates;
  • Follow up with tax office on tax account payment updates and balance discrepancies when they arise;
  • Group inventory shipments (stock, shipping & custom costs) & revalue items costs for postings via batches;
  • Post monthly inventory batches arising from revalued items to update inventory quantities;
  • Perform detailed inventory variance reports & book differences (annually);
  • Generate and convert currency for customer statements and send to clients on a monthly basis;
  • Generate AR reports with up-to-date feedback on overdue invoices for submission;
  • Assist with reconciliation of client accounts as needed;
  • Do monthly checks on invoices posted in QuickBooks against invoices in server to identify changes.

  • Bsc Degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting or the completion of ACCA Level II;
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in general accounting which must include balance sheet/final accounts management and reconciliation;
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles and detailed oriented;
  • Good work ethics with a desire to improve professionally and add value to the organization;
  • Computer-savvy with a working knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks;
  • Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
