Human Resources Manager

Main Purpose and Scope of The Job
Responsible for managing daily HR operations to sustain organizational capability and meet the business goals of HR in the organization. Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support business leaders in the implementation or execution of initiatives that drive employee engagement, reinforce company culture and build employee commitment;
  • Assists in identifying key drivers of employee satisfaction and supports managers in addressing issues with written plans and actions;
  • Partner with the HR team to manage employee relations issues associated with performance, leave, business integrity, terminations, or other employee relations matters;
  • Works with the local regulatory bodies (e.g. NIS, labour, occupational safety, and health) to respond to claims/complaints or concerns; reviews reports for accuracy and corrects errors, and responds appropriately;
  • Analyzes accident trends and reports these trends to the management team;
  • Partner closely with all disciplines and other functional organizations e.g. (Barbados Labour Department, Productivity Council, BCSI, BEC, BCCHI, NISE, etc.) on a variety of business activities including staffing levels and other activities as required;
  • Manage, support, and/ or enhance the company's end-to-end talent lifecycle management process;
  • Assists in the management of department controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals;
  • Administer and implement compensation and benefits programs;
  • Ensures that team members are cross-trained to support successful daily department operations;
  • Conducts annual performance appraisals with direct reports according to Standard Operating Procedures.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource or other related discipline and 7+ years of progressively responsible experience for HR services;
  • Preference will be given to candidates with high level experience in the retail sector;
  • Human Resources designation by a recognized body i.e. SHRM, HRCI, WaW, CIPD;
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills;
  • Good oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to be a strong influence with strong negotiation skills;
  • Proficiency in the use of computer software e.g. Microsoft Office, HR Software, etc.
