Director of Operations, Medical Cannabis Industry (Deputy C.O.O.)

Jamaican Medical Cannabis Collective a rapidly growing multi-faceted company in the medical cannabis industry is searching for a Director of Operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the sourcing, delivery and erection of all JMCC facilities including greenhouses and production facilities. He/she will handle the preparation of all land prior to erection of the facilities including the hiring of sub-contractors for the delivery of specific services to ensure the facilities are maintained.  The incumbent will manage the sourcing of a permanent plot of land, and the design and construction of JMCC’s permanent facility.
The scope of responsibility of this role encompasses supply chain management from point of harvest to delivery to the client.
 


Job Responsibilities:
The candidate will be responsible for executing all of the operational strategic plans on the ground and will include, but not be limited, to:

1.           Executing the operational strategy for the company.
2.           Sourcing and recruiting local sub-contractors for the specific roles to be undertaken.
3.           Management and oversight of various sub-contractors.
4.           Creation of processes and SOPs as required for the various steps of the supply chain.
5.           Executing the various steps of the supply chain in line with pre-described and agreed budgets.
6.           Creating and managing relationships with suppliers and service providers.
7.           Identifying and employing the various contractors required for the development of the JMCC permanent facility.
8.           Hiring and managing a team to assist with the operational roll-out of the company.
 
 

Job Requirements:
  • 5 years management experience within a commercial operating environment with responsibility for supply chain management
  • Flexibility in working hours / days
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • A hands-on “roll up one’s sleeves” approach to work
  • Familiarity with construction/ project management
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • A team player with strong leadership abilities
