Job SummaryThe Warehouse Attendant ensures organized storage, meticulous record-keeping, and timely distribution of all hotel goods. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, they will act as the link between the loading dock and the operational departments, ensuring that every area of the resort has the supplies it needs to maintain high service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Stock Organization: Properly shelf and store all incoming goods according to category (F&B, Housekeeping, Engineering), ensuring the warehouse remains clean, hazard-free, and organized.
- FIFO Management: Strictly follow First-In, First-Out (FIFO) protocols to ensure stock rotation, preventing the expiration of perishable food items and beverages.
- Requisition Fulfillment: Accurately pick and pack items for departmental requisitions, ensuring that the correct quantities are issued to outlets like the main kitchen, bars, and housekeeping closets.
- Inventory Accuracy: Assist the Cost Analysts in monthly and spot-check inventories. They are responsible for ensuring that the physical count in the warehouse matches the digital records in the system.
- Quality Control: Monitor storage conditions (e.g., ensuring dry stores are cool and pest-free) and report any signs of damaged goods or low stock levels immediately.
- Documentation: Maintain tidy files of requisition forms and delivery notes, ensuring all stock movements are signed for by the receiving departments.
- Experience: 1–2 years of experience in a warehouse or storeroom environment, preferably within a large hotel or the food & beverage industry.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to stand for long periods, climb ladders, and lift/move heavy boxes (up to 50 lbs) daily.
- Numeracy & Literacy: Strong basic math skills for accurate counting and the ability to read and understand complex product labels and invoices.
- Team Player: A proactive attitude with the ability to communicate clearly with diverse departments (Chefs, Housekeepers, and Accountants).
- Professionalism: Must maintain the high grooming and conduct standards of a luxury resort, even while working in back-of-house areas.
- Speed & Accuracy: In an all-inclusive environment of this size, the volume of requests is high; the ability to work quickly without making counting errors is vital.
- Asset Protection & Loss Prevention: Demonstrated high level of integrity in managing high-value inventory (e.g., premium liquors and luxury proteins) through strict adherence to "lock-and-key" protocols and internal security standards.
