Financial Controller

Job Summary:
The Financial Controller will be responsible for General accounting duties for the assigned companies. Control over record integrity and accuracy. Ensure compliance with accounting procedures (IFRS), the policies, and local legislation.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly management accounts and related variance analyses for management in accordance with Group deadlines
• Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations and follow up on reconciling items
• Maintain General Ledger and related sub-ledgers
• Review Bank reconciliations
• Ensure all internal and external audit requirements are answered promptly
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements for assigned companies
• Ensure all accounting transactions are approved and recorded in compliance with company policies
• Resolve exceptional accounting issues as applicable on time
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic financial forecasts
• Assist with the preparation of tax returns and other regulatory filings as required
• Assist with special projects requested by Management
• Any other duties, compatible with the level of the position, that may be assigned from time to time

Requirements:

• University degree in Accounting or related field with 3-5 years post-qualification experience (Accounting qualification such as ACCA/CA/CPA required)
• Big 4 trained for Accounting qualification (KPMG, EY, PWC, Deloitte)
• Sound knowledge of business controls
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (strong Excel skills required)
• Proficient use of accounting ERP software (Microsoft Great Plains experience is desirable)
• Must be well organized, detail-oriented, possess strong analytical, accounting, and procedural skills, and ability to get things done on time.
• Possess a sense of initiative and ability to perform under pressure in a flexible, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work in teams
